Welcome! The Aroostook County Historical and Art Museum was founded in 1937 by Ransford W. Shaw. We are located in the Historic White Memorial Building at 109 Main Street in Houlton, Maine. Our mission is dedicated to preserving the history and artistic heritage of Aroostook County's shire town and the surrounding area. The museum is currently open by appointment only. We've been busy with our current digitization project and are adding photos and documents to our digital archive every day. Take a look around and familiarize yourself with the site. We are confident that you'll find it very informative. We've spent months designing and creating content and hope you enjoy it. Please make sure that you visit our Houlton History page. It's packed with content that will keep you busy for hours upon end and we will continue to create new content down the road. Please use the contact form below if you'd like to schedule a tour, if you have donations for the museum, or if you just want to leave feedback. We'd love to hear your opinion on how we can continue to make this site, and our museum, better. You can also contact us by calling us at (207) 532-4216.
